The Alliance welcomes new member Temp2Higher, a staffing enterprise of the North End Community Improvement Collaborative (NECIC) in Mansfield, Ohio!

NECIC uses an asset-based approach to developing the local economy and improving quality of life in Mansfield’s North End neighborhood. They launched Temp2Higher in early 2016 to bridge the gap between companies searching for new employees and residents eager to work.

Temp2Higher primarily places job seekers with manufacturing and light industrial businesses, managing about 150 workers on a weekly basis, and supporting their transition to permanent full-time employment. In its first 18 months, the company generated $2.3 million in sales and employed some 1,200 individuals. Over 200 have been hired full-time.

Beth Reitler joined the enterprise in May and serves as Temp2Higher’s Director of Operations. The Temp2Higher team and their colleagues at NECIC collaborate closely with the local workforce board, several workforce task forces, and business partners.

Workforce programs are aimed at supporting temporary employees in overcoming traditional barriers to employment (e.g., transportation and childcare), and developing skills necessary to retain employment and increase advancement opportunities. Personal leadership development, financial literacy, and support for entrepreneurs are just a few of Temp2Higher’s offerings.
