Spotlight on Alternative Staffing at SEA Summit 14

Feb 28, 2014 No Comments by

Alternative Staffing will be featured as one of eight “intensive” sessions to be offered during the upcoming Social Enterprise Alliance Summit in Nashville, April 13-16.

This three-hour deep dive will begin with an overview of the sector and feature three seasoned practitioners – GoodTemps (Muskegon, MI), DePaul Industries (Portland, OR), and WorkSquare (Miami, FL) – whose differences in enterprise structure, partners, and training and supportive services for job seekers demonstrate the flexibility of the alternative staffing approach.

We’ll then break into two groups for more in-depth discussion about Starting Up and Scaling Up an alternative staffing business. In the Starting Up group, additional Alliance members including Chrysalis Enterprises (Los Angeles) and Diversified Personnel Services (Ft. Atkinson, WI) will share practical insights about three core elements of staffing industry success: sales and business development, good internal management systems and access to capital.

The Scaling Up group will more closely examine real-world growth strategies. GoodTemps will discuss methods used to diversify its customer base and develop new revenue streams. DePaul will provide details about joint venture and licensing opportunities through its new benefit corporation Purpose STAFF. And First Step Staffing (Atlanta) will share its experiences pursuing growth via subcontracting and acquisition.
