Congratulations to WorkSquare ‘West,’ now open for business as a licensed branch of WorkSquare in Miami, Florida, a Certified B Corp established in 2008. The Los Angeles branch is led by Natasha White, founder of Affecting Change, Inc., a nonprofit that provides job readiness training and other supportive services to people with diverse barriers to employment.

Natasha first learned about WorkSquare a couple years ago while exploring ways to employ graduates of Affecting Change, Inc.’s job readiness training. She was intrigued by WorkSquare’s business approach to helping low-wage workers get ahead and attracted to their use of financial training to increase workers’ financial stability.

WorkSquare founder Vanessa Bartram found Natasha and her team to be a good fit, and proceeded to develop a licensing agreement that includes training about staffing business operating procedures, shared data management systems, back office support and workers compensation insurance.

To begin, WorkSquare ‘West’ is focused on making IT placements in the insurance industry and filling merchandising jobs with a large grocery distributor and retail chain. In addition, both Miami and Los Angeles have expanding ports that offer potential future business opportunities and synergy between the two branches.
