WorkSquare’s Vanessa Bartram selected Yoshiyama Young Entrepreneur of 2012

Please join us in congratulating Vanessa Bartram, founder of Alliance member WorkSquare in Miami, Florida on her selection by Hitachi Foundation as one of four Yoshiyama Young Entrepreneurs of 2012! Through this competitive award, Hitachi recognizes “businesses that are creating real opportunities for upward mobility for low-wealth Americans.”

Vanessa founded WorkSquare in 2008 as a way to connect reliable, motivated job seekers with opportunities for employment and advancement while also improving their financial stability. This year the company expects to place about 400 individuals into stable employment with 100 of these transitioning into permanent jobs.

As part of the Hitachi Foundation award, WorkSquare will receive a $40,000 grant along with leadership development, business mentoring, technical assistance and access to a network of peers and advisers.
